The electronic switch for controlling the pump operation, or in other words press control, provides the function of a pressure switch, thus allowing the automation of the operation of the electric water pump depending on the pressure drop and when the water flow in the distribution system is stopped (i.e. when the electrical contacts of the device are opened and closed) - it allows the pump or water plant to run automatically. The automatic, press control PC-59 with pressure gauge and self-start also provides dry-running protection - it switches off the pump when running without water. This protects the pump from damage that could occur when running without water. After switching off, it is restarted by pressing the RESET button. We recommend to use the automatic press control PC-59 with pressure gauge in clean water pipes free of dirt and sediments, otherwise it is necessary to install an appropriate filter on the inlet part of the device. The working setting of the control unit is from experience recommended max 6bar. (As there is a max. value for example on the rev counter of cars - it is not reached because the engine could be damaged). When used with pumps that develop pressures higher than 6 BAR, we recommend fitting a pressure reducing valve in front of the control unit. Advantages: the PC-59 press control with pressure gauge and self-start can be used in combination with a pressure vessel - as a dry run protection or as an automatic unit for pumps and waterworks without a pressure vessel (automatic waterworks). A great advantage of the PC-59 control unit is that both the lower switch-on pressure and the upper switch-off pressure can be adjusted. Thereafter, the pump will start whenever the working pressure is reached at the moment the system pressure is reduced, for example when a valve is opened. When this condition is met, the unit delays the shutdown of the device by 7 to 15 seconds. This reduces the frequency of pump start-up at low flow rates. Installation: The PC-59 automatic pressure gauge can be installed at any point between the pump and the first point of withdrawal so that the direction of the arrow located on the bottom of the device (at the thread) between the two 1 diameter connections corresponds to the direction of the water flow. It is necessary to ensure a perfect seal of the hydraulic connections in the distribution system. If a pump with a maximum allowable pressure of 10 bar is used, a pressure reducing valve must be installed and this must be at inlet PC-59. The device is factory set to 1.5 bar which is optimal for most applications. After disconnecting the equipment from the power supply, if the hydraulic capacity of the pump used allows it, the pressure can be changed by removing the top cover using the screw marked with + and - signs.
